Kindness for Kids: Easy Ways to Teach Giving This Season

The holidays are a magical time — full of lights, treats, and family moments that make lasting memories. But it’s also the perfect season to help our little ones learn one of the most beautiful lessons of all: the joy of giving.
One of my favorite traditions is taking Eden with me each year to pick out toys for our Adopt an Angel child. We walk through the aisles together, and I let her help choose things she thinks another girl her age would love. I use those moments to talk with her about why we give, how it feels to help someone we may never meet, and how even small acts can make someone’s holiday brighter.
That’s why this year, we’re spreading the love by serving as a drop-off location for Toys for Tots.
These simple acts of generosity show kids that giving back can be fun, meaningful, and part of their holiday traditions. Here are a few easy ways your family can join in:

1. Donate a Toy Together
Bring your child with you to pick out a toy for another child in need — and drop it off right here at Eden’s Play Café! Let them help choose something special and explain how their gift will make another kid smile.
2. Make Kindness Crafts
Set up a kindness corner at home — kids can create cards for neighbors, grandparents, or local helpers. Add stickers, crayons, and all the creativity they want!
3. Model the Magic
Kids learn by watching us. Whether you’re donating, volunteering, or simply sharing kind words, those moments matter. They show our little ones that giving isn’t just something we do — it’s part of who we are.
This season, let’s raise kind hearts, not just happy ones. Stop by, drop off a toy, share in the spirit of giving, and make this holiday one that teaches joy in every form — from playtime to community care.
Together, we can make kindness a tradition.
Stay grounded & grateful!
